Consultation paper on draft guidelines on fraud reporting requirements

On 2 August 2017 the European Banking Authority (EBA) published its draft Guidelines on reporting requirements on statistical data on fraud. Implementing uniform reporting requirements, the guidelines are designed to facilitate an evaluation of the security in retail payments within the EU. The new provisions, which are based on the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2), define fraudulent payment transactions and set out the methodology for compiling and reporting data by the Payment Service Providers referred to in the guidelines. Furthermore, these guidelines state that the competent authorities shall provide the EBA and the European Central Bank with aggregated data.
