Work placements for secondary school students

Take the opportunity to experience working life and what it really “feels like” to work for the Bundesbank. Maybe you could even imagine doing a traineeship or a degree at the Bundesbank once you have finished school?

At the Deutsche Bundesbank, the standard duration for work placements is one to three weeks and these can be completed at different locations and in different fields.

You can apply to us if a work placement is an obligatory part of your school curriculum. In addition, we also offer pupils who would like to apply to us on a voluntary basis the possibility to explore working life. In order to do so, however, you should at least be in your eighth year of school and a minimum of 15 years old. Whether on a voluntary or obligatory basis, we expect the following of our work placement interns.

  • Willingness to take the initiative and the
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying demands

It is important that you apply as soon as possible, ie at least six months prior to your preferred starting date. Please also let us know which field, location and period of time you would like to complete you work experience in. We require the following documents.

  • Covering letter
  • CV in table form
  • Copies of your last two school reports
