Economics analyses

As part of the tasks it fulfils in relation to monetary and foreign exchange policy, the Deutsche Bundesbank monitors current business developments and analyses a broad spectrum of economic issues. The subjects it deals with range from topical questions regarding economic policy and evaluating statistical data and producing forecasts to general questions on the principles of economic policy and more research-based work.

While one focus lies on issues directly relating to Germany or monetary union, international issues also play an important role. First and foremost, the analyses allow the Bundesbank and the Eurosystem to form their own opinions. In addition, they represent the basis for the Bundesbank’s advisory activities.

Selected analyses are published, for instance as scientific discussion papers or as part of the Bundesbank’s Monthly Reports.
