The exchange rate statistics are a collection of current and historical exchange rates for the euro (Deutsche Mark prior to 1999) and the US dollar in around 190 countries. A collection of metadata, for instance on exchange rate arrangements and monetary history, is also available for all of these countries.

Effective exchange rates reflect the performance of a currency against a weighted average of several other major currencies and correspond to a price index in terms of methodology.

In addition to nominal and real effective exchange rates of the euro, country-specific indicators of price competitiveness are calculated.
