Its numismatic collection contains historical and contemporary means of payment, which need not shy away from comparison both nationally and internationally; with a total of around 350,000 objects, it is one of the four largest collections in Germany.
With its collection, the Deutsche Bundesbank assumes cultural responsibility and preserves a "monetary history of mankind" for future generations.
